Karachi to Host “World Culture Festival” Featuring Global Artists and Performances

from 34 countries, including theater, music

dance, and fine arts, ACP Karachi announces

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi held a press conference at Haseena Moin Hall to discuss the upcoming “World Culture Festival Karachi.” Muhammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, led the event along with prominent figures such as Anwar Maqsood, Khalid Ahmed, Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Farooqi, and Qudsia Akbar.

Festival Dates and Participating Countries

Muhammad Ahmed Shah announced that the “World Culture Festival Karachi” will start on September 26th and continue until October 30th, 2024. Over 34 countries, including Palestine, India, Turkey, the USA, the UK, and Germany, will participate in the festival.

Cultural Performances and International Participation

The festival will feature more than 100 cultural performances by 350 artists, including theater, music, dance, and fine arts from Pakistan and abroad. Muhammad Ahmed Shah emphasized that this will be the largest festival in Pakistan’s history, surpassing previous events like the Youth Festival and the Pakistan Theater Festival.

Expansion to a Global Cultural Celebration

Strong international interest encouraged the expansion of the event into a global cultural celebration. Around 40 countries are expected to participate, and the festival will offer a fusion of music and dance forms from across the globe. Additionally, workshops and talks will be available to students and the public through registration.

Highlighting Pakistan’s Rich Cultural Heritage

Ahmed Shah highlighted Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, so the festival will also showcase Qawwali, classical dance, and folk music by artists like Akhtar Chanal, Wahab Bugti, and Mai Dhai. He aims to bring 35 days of joy to the public, and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has pledged full security support.

Praise and Anticipation for the Festival

Renowned humorist Anwar Maqsood praised Ahmed Shah’s vision of bringing 40 countries together. He hopes the festival will bring joy to a nation that has long yearned for it. Theater director Khalid Ahmed also acknowledged the scale of the festival and called it a significant learning opportunity for students.

Conclusion and Media Support

Finally, Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Farooqi, Secretary of the Arts Council, thanked the media for their support in promoting this landmark event.
