The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has issued new directives for commercial plots and buildings, ordering immediate enforcement of updated regulations.
According to an official notification, amendments to the Karachi Building and Town Planning Regulations have been implemented, making it mandatory to comply with the new rules before obtaining final construction permits, completion plans, and no-objection certificates (NOCs).
Following the amendment notification, the Additional Director General Farhan Qaiser has issued a new order stating that the revised rules will apply to all pending as well as future commercial cases.
The updated regulations impose stricter requirements on parking, subdivision of plots, and commercial construction standards. Fire safety rules have also been tightened, making it compulsory to obtain NOCs from Civil Defense and the Fire Brigade.
For public sale, industrial, and amenity projects, installation of modern firefighting systems has been made mandatory.
The notification further states that any violation of these regulations will result in action against the responsible officials under the Service Rules 2016.
