Japan’s Terra Motors Enters Pakistan with Electric Three-Wheeler ‘Kyoro’

Nauman Ali

Karachi: Terra Motors, a Japanese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced its entry into Pakistan with the launch of its flagship electric three-wheeler, Kyoro. The company, known for its EV innovation across Asia and Africa, is also inviting applications from local distributors to help expand its footprint in the country.

The Kyoro is designed for both passenger transport and last-mile logistics. It offers a top speed of over 55 km/h, a driving range of up to 200 km per charge, and is powered by an 11.7 kWh battery. With a two-speed gearbox, the vehicle can climb gradients of up to 22% while maintaining smooth acceleration. Its four-hour charging time and low operating costs position it as a cost-effective alternative to conventional three-wheelers.

Terra Motors said its expansion into Pakistan marks a milestone in its mission to provide sustainable and affordable mobility solutions. The company emphasized that local operations will encourage value addition in EV manufacturing, reduce dependence on imported fuel, and create new jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities.

“As a Japanese company, we are proud to bring our advanced EV technology and trusted engineering to Pakistan,” said Go Suzuki, Managing Director of Terra Motors Corporation. “We see Pakistan as a key market where we can reshape sustainable mobility in Asia. By launching Kyoro and collaborating with local partners, we aim to create jobs, reduce fuel dependency, and establish a cleaner transport ecosystem.”

The company highlighted that its presence in Pakistan will also strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and Pakistan in technology, investment, and sustainable development.

Founded in 2010, Terra Motors operates in multiple Asian markets including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Thailand, with manufacturing facilities spread across Asia. The company is part of the Terra Group, which also runs Terra Finance, Terra Charge, and Terra Drone—businesses supporting EV adoption, charging infrastructure, and drone technologies.
