Karachi: The Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi hosted the Consul General’s Commendation Award Ceremony 2025, honoring Mr. Khurram Sohail, founder of the Pakistan-Japan Literature Forum (PJLF), for his exceptional contributions to promoting Japanese literature and culture in Pakistan and deepening Japan-Pakistan relations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Consul General HATTORI Masaru congratulated Mr. Sohail, describing the award as a “symbol of sincere appreciation” and recognition of his long-standing dedication to cultural exchange. He highlighted that Mr. Sohail’s efforts have played a vital role in strengthening the bonds of friendship between Japan and Pakistan.

The Consul General’s Commendation Award is presented to individuals or organizations who have cooperated with Japanese diplomatic missions abroad and made outstanding contributions to cultural, social, or diplomatic ties. This year’s honoree, Mr. Khurram Sohail, now joins a distinguished group of individuals recognized for shaping a stronger future for bilateral relations.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi reaffirmed its commitment to fostering diplomatic, cultural, and economic cooperation between Japan and Pakistan. Through initiatives spanning education, business, and cultural exchange, the Consulate continues to promote mutual understanding and collaboration across diverse sectors.
