Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Venezuela’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Relations and Foreign Trade, Félix Plasencia, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening diplomatic ties.

During the call, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar congratulated Plasencia on his appointment. He also conveyed Pakistan’s condolences over the recent earthquakes in Venezuela and reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Venezuelan government and its people.
Dar expressed confidence in Venezuela’s resilience and wished the country a swift recovery from the natural disaster.
Meanwhile, Plasencia thanked Pakistan for its message of sympathy and humanitarian support. He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation during recent regional tensions involving the United States and Iran, praising its commitment to peace and diplomacy.
The two ministers reviewed the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Venezuela. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties through closer cooperation.
In addition, both sides discussed expanding collaboration in trade, investment, business, agriculture, information technology and other sectors of mutual interest.
Dar emphasized the importance of sustained high-level engagement to deepen bilateral cooperation. Both ministers also appreciated continued coordination at multilateral forums on issues of shared interest.
Finally, the two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and meet at the earliest appropriate opportunity to advance Pakistan-Venezuela relations.
