Karachi: The Iranian Consulate General in Karachi hosted a farewell reception on Monday in honor of outgoing Consul General Hasan Nourian at a local hotel.
The event was attended by Consul Generals from various countries, senior diplomats, prominent businessmen, political and religious leaders, journalists, and other distinguished guests. Ms. Sadia Gohar Khanum, Acting Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Karachi, represented Pakistan’s Foreign Office on the occasion.
Hasan Nourian, who served as the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi for over four years, was lauded for his significant contributions toward strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran. The Foreign Office representative paid tribute to his diplomatic efforts and the deepening of mutual cooperation during his tenure.
In his farewell address, Hasan Nourian emphasized that Iran and Pakistan are more than neighbors—they are brothers, sharing centuries of cultural exchange, trade, and religious harmony. He stated that both countries have consistently supported one another since independence, maintaining a bond rooted in shared values and regional connectivity.
Nourian highlighted recent achievements in Pakistan-Iran cooperation, including border market initiatives, infrastructure development, and high-level dialogues. He expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, underscoring the need for sustained partnerships in trade, energy, border development, education, and counterterrorism.
He concluded with heartfelt wishes for continued growth and prosperity in Pakistan-Iran relations, calling for deep, long-lasting cooperation across multiple sectors.
