Karachi: The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi hosted a grand diplomatic reception to mark Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day. The event, held on September 27, 2024, was graced by prominent figures including Governor Sindh Mr. Kamran Khan Tessori, Culture Minister Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, H.E. Mr. Hassan Norian. The celebration also saw attendance from diplomats, government officials, and business leaders.
Strengthening Indonesia-Pakistan Ties
Mr. Teguh Wiweko, Chargé d’Affaires of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, delivered a speech underscoring the robust friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan. He highlighted the 74 years of strong diplomatic relations and expressed optimism about future collaborations in trade, culture, and education.
Business Leaders Win Exciting Travel Packages
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of door prize winners. Businessmen Mr. Shamon Zaki, President of the Pakistan-Indonesia Business Forum (PIBF), and Mr. Zeeshan Lohya, CEO of Z Group and owner of Coconut Group, won exclusive travel packages. These prizes, including tickets to Bali and Jakarta with three-day travel accommodations, were sponsored by Emirates Airlines and Polani Group. The winners were selected by Mr. Wiweko and Governor Tessori, adding a special touch to the celebration.
