ISLAMABAD — The federal government has announced a significant reduction in petroleum prices on the third day of Eid, cutting petrol and diesel rates by Rs22 per litre each to provide relief to the public.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the decision was made in line with the government’s commitment to pass on financial relief to citizens whenever fiscal space becomes available.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Reduced by Rs22

Officials said the move is aimed at easing inflationary pressure and supporting transporters, motorcyclists, and daily commuters across the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that providing relief to the public remains one of his government’s top priorities.

He added that the administration had already provided relief measures in the previous week as part of its ongoing effort to reduce fuel-related burdens on citizens.

The statement further highlighted that the government has continued fuel subsidies for public transport, goods transport, motorcycles, and rickshaws even under challenging economic conditions.

It said the objective is to ensure affordability and uninterrupted fuel availability for the masses.
