Vozinha received 39.6% of the votes in the goalkeeper category. He secured the spot despite Spain’s Unai Simón winning the official Golden Glove, which is selected by FIFA’s technical study group.

The 40-year-old was without a club after leaving Portuguese second-tier side Chaves before the tournament. However, he produced a series of outstanding performances. He made seven saves as Cape Verde held eventual champions Spain to a goalless draw. He also helped push eventual finalists Argentina into extra time in the Round of 32.

Meanwhile, Haaland claimed 27.5% of the votes among forwards. He inspired Norway to its first-ever FIFA World Cup quarter-final.

The Manchester City striker scored seven goals in five matches. He netted twice in Norway’s 2-1 victory over five-time champions Brazil in the Round of 16. However, Norway’s journey ended in the quarter-finals against England.

In addition, the fan-selected team features global stars Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Jude Bellingham.
