At a prestigious investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Asim Munir awarded military honours to officers, soldiers, and families of martyrs in recognition of exceptional bravery and distinguished service during operations across the country.
The ceremony highlighted the armed forces’ ongoing sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and paid tribute to the families of martyrs, who received awards on behalf of their loved ones.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a total of 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat were awarded during the ceremony.
Posthumous awards were received with honour by the families of the martyrs, as senior military leadership acknowledged their extraordinary contributions to national security.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir paid rich tribute to the fallen heroes, stating that “Shuhada and Ghazis remain the enduring pride of the nation” and that their sacrifices are a “sacred trust” for every Pakistani.
He emphasized that peace and stability in Pakistan have been achieved through the unmatched dedication and sacrifices of its armed forces.
The Army Chief praised the operational readiness and professionalism of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies, highlighting their continued success in combating militant networks.
Reaffirming national resolve, he stated that the fight against terrorism will continue “with full national commitment until lasting peace and stability are achieved across the country.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir also expressed deep respect for the families of martyrs, acknowledging their resilience and unwavering strength in the face of sacrifice.
He reiterated that the security forces remain fully committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring a secure future for Pakistan.
