DGF and OGDCL Distribute 350 Wheelchairs Across Sindh Hospitals

Karachi: In a significant step toward enhancing healthcare accessibility in Sindh, Dawood Global Foundation (DGF), in collaboration with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), distributed 350 wheelchairs to hospitals operating under the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Sindh.
The distribution ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Hyderabad, where key stakeholders gathered to mark the initiative. Among the attendees were Mr. Zain Ul Abedin Memon, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad and Chief Guest; Mr. Zahid Ali Mahesar, Regional Coordinator OGDCL Hyderabad; Mr. Miran Ali Shah, National Coordinator DGF; and PPHI representatives from all participating districts.
Each of the seven districts—Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Jamshoro, and Sujawal—received 50 wheelchairs. This distribution aims to significantly enhance patient mobility and comfort in public hospitals across Sindh.
Deputy Commissioner Memon lauded the initiative, calling it “a powerful example of how public-private partnerships can bring real change to citizens’ lives.” He praised the efforts of DGF’s CEO, Tara Uzra Dawood, and expressed hope for continued collaboration.
Mr. Zahid Ali Mahesar of OGDCL reiterated the organization’s commitment to community welfare, stating, “Healthcare remains a key pillar of our development programs. We are proud to work alongside DGF in creating a positive impact.”
Mr. Miran Ali Shah highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare, adding, “Providing wheelchairs ensures dignity and better recovery for patients. This initiative is a step toward a healthier Sindh.”
DGF has pledged to distribute 10,000 wheelchairs across Pakistan, underscoring its mission to improve healthcare and community well-being through strategic partnerships.
