Looking back on her acting career, Atiqa recalled several classic films and shared personal experiences from Pakistan’s entertainment industry. The conversation turned emotional after the programme played a song from one of her films directed by the late Iqbal Kashmiri.
She said the song instantly brought back memories of the filmmaker, whose commitment to cinema left a lasting impression on her.
Atiqa said she worked with Iqbal Kashmiri in films such as Jo Dar Gaya Woh Mar Gaya and Mummy. Although Mummy failed to achieve commercial success, she described it as one of the most memorable projects of her career because of the experiences she shared with the director.
She also recalled frequently joking with Kashmiri on set because she lacked confidence in dancing. However, she said the director’s passion for filmmaking motivated him to personally demonstrate dance steps, making it easier for her to perform.
Furthermore, Atiqa said she still feels saddened whenever she thinks about Iqbal Kashmiri’s passing. She praised his extraordinary love for acting and filmmaking, adding that many people in today’s film and television industry focus more on financial success than on artistic dedication and passion.
