Karachi — Al-Nimrah College of Nursing Health and Science Institute observed International Nurses Day with a ceremony highlighting the dedication, compassion, and service of nurses in the healthcare system.
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony led by the institute’s Founder and Managing Director Muhammad Aslam Khan, alongside Principal Mudassar Mustafa and other faculty members, including Professor Nadeem Uddin, Professor Muti-ur-Rehman, Lecturer Mansoor Madni, and Dr. Namrah. A large number of students also participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Aslam Khan paid tribute to the nursing profession, describing nurses as “angels on earth” who bring comfort to patients and hope in moments of suffering. He said that nursing goes beyond being a profession, calling it a “mission of humanity” that reflects patience, sincerity, and compassion.
He added that nurses play a vital role in patient care, often serving as the first source of emotional and medical support in hospitals. He praised their dedication during emergencies and described their service as essential to the functioning of modern healthcare systems.
The speakers collectively highlighted the importance of recognizing nurses’ contributions and encouraged students to uphold the values of empathy, discipline, and professionalism in their careers.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and a renewed commitment to honor and support the nursing community in Pakistan.
