AI Innovation Lab Announced in Karachi to Boost Pakistan’s AI Startups

Karachi: Mehwish Salman Ali, a Pakistani-origin award-winning entrepreneur and CEO of Data Vault Pakistan, has announced the establishment of an AI Innovation Lab in Karachi. The initiative, revealed at the International Digital Cooperation Forum (IDCF) hosted by the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) at the Dead Sea, Jordan, aims to accelerate AI startups, foster innovation, and integrate Pakistani AI solutions into the global market.

The AI Innovation Lab is expected to attract foreign investment and partnerships. Mehwish Salman Ali stated that the lab will provide entrepreneurs in the AI sector with facilitation, resources, and mentorship to strengthen Pakistan’s presence in the global technology landscape.

During the 4th General Assembly at IDCF, Mehwish emphasized Pakistan’s role in developing world-class AI talent. On the sidelines of the event, she engaged in high-level meetings to promote Pakistan’s technology sector and AI capabilities.

She held discussions with:

  • Hakeem AbdulAziz Alrasheed, General Manager of Saudi Arabia’s leading technology company Elm, to explore collaboration in AI and digital security.
  • Ulrike Domany-Funtan, General Secretary of Fit4Internet, on AI-driven digital literacy and cybersecurity partnerships.
  • Alberto Rodrigues da Silva, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Modernization and Digitalization, to discuss bilateral cooperation in AI research, development, and innovation. Mehwish invited him to visit Pakistan and explore the Data Vault Data Center.
  • Dr. Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Under-Secretary of Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, who invited Data Vault to establish an office in Oman to develop AI-based solutions for regional and international markets.

This initiative is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s position as a key player in AI development and technological entrepreneurship.
