Islamabad: JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading fintech platform, has teamed up with Spotify, the world’s most popular audio streaming service, to enable seamless payments for Spotify Premium subscriptions. This partnership allows millions of users across Pakistan to subscribe to Spotify Premium directly through JazzCash, simplifying access to uninterrupted music and exclusive features.

Revolutionizing Digital Payments in Pakistan

With the rapid growth of e-commerce payments in Pakistan, transactions reached a staggering 118 million in Q1 FY25. Notably, 91% of these transactions were facilitated through digital wallets, according to the latest Payment Systems Review. JazzCash plays a pivotal role in this transformation, boasting over 2,000 online merchants and 2 million unique monthly customers for e-commerce transactions. In 2024 alone, JazzCash processed PKR 160 billion in e-commerce payments, solidifying its leadership in the digital payments space.

Enhancing Accessibility for Spotify Users

Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, remarked, “A large part of Pakistan’s population remains underbanked, relying on fintech platforms like JazzCash. Our partnership with Spotify enables millions to enjoy a premium music experience without needing a bank account. This collaboration aligns with our mission to provide greater access to technology and global entertainment platforms.”

Marwen Ben Messaoud, Growth Lead for South Asia, Middle East, and Africa at Spotify, added, “We are thrilled to partner with JazzCash to strengthen our local presence in Pakistan. This partnership connects us with younger, music-loving audiences, offering them access to over 100 million songs, ad-free streaming, offline downloads, and personalized features at an exceptional value.”

Affordable Plans and Exclusive Promotions

Spotify Premium is now available for PKR 349 per month through JazzCash. Users can select a plan in the Spotify app, choose JazzCash as the payment method, and confirm the subscription.

To celebrate the launch, JazzCash and Spotify are offering exciting promotions:

  • Always-On Offer: Two months of Spotify Premium for the price of one.
  • Limited-Time Promotion: Four months of Spotify Premium for the price of one (valid until December 31, 2024).

Why This Matters

This collaboration not only simplifies access to Spotify Premium but also underscores the growing influence of fintech platforms like JazzCash in Pakistan’s evolving digital economy.
