The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) hosted a Gong Ceremony to celebrate the listing of Ningbo Green Light Energy Limited (NGLEL) on its Main Board, marking the successful completion of Pakistan’s first-ever Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) transaction.
The listing represents a significant development for Pakistan’s capital market, demonstrating how the SPAC framework can provide an alternative route for growth-oriented businesses to access public investment and expand their operations.
Originally identified as the target company of LSE SPAC-I Limited, NGLEL completed its business combination through a Scheme of Arrangement sanctioned by the Lahore High Court on September 30, 2026.
The transaction, structured and facilitated by LSE Capital, resulted in the merger of LSE SPAC-I into NGLEL, paving the way for the solar energy company to become publicly listed.
Ningbo Green Light Energy operates in the renewable energy sector, specialising in solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), system integration, operations and maintenance services.
PSX Highlights Landmark Capital Market Development
Speaking at the ceremony, PSX Director Ahmed Chinoy, H.I.S.I., described the listing as a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s capital market.
“Today’s Gong Ceremony marks a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s capital market with the successful completion of the country’s first SPAC transaction,” Chinoy said.

He noted that NGLEL’s admission to the Main Board demonstrated how innovative capital market structures could create new opportunities for companies seeking public investment and business expansion.
Chinoy added that the transaction established a precedent for future SPAC-led listings while supporting Pakistan’s renewable energy transition and strengthening economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
NGLEL Eyes Expansion Through Public Listing
Ningbo Green Light Energy Limited Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Qasim said the listing represented more than a financial milestone for the company.
He said NGLEL had spent years developing its capabilities, delivering projects and establishing its presence in Pakistan’s solar energy market.
“Becoming a publicly listed company gives us a stronger platform to pursue larger opportunities, expand our operations and build lasting value for our shareholders,” Qasim said.
He added that the company was proud to participate in a transaction that had opened a new chapter for Pakistan’s capital market.
Company Emphasises Technical Expertise in Solar Energy
NGLEL Director Technology Cheng Quan highlighted the company’s engineering capabilities and ambitions to expand its operations across Pakistan.
He said the country possessed considerable solar energy potential but required more than technology alone to realise it.
According to Cheng, engineering expertise, dependable project execution and solutions tailored to local conditions remained essential for developing the sector.
He said NGLEL aimed to combine international technical experience with a strong local presence to deliver efficient, reliable and increasingly advanced solar energy solutions.
LSE Capital Calls Listing a Precedent for Future SPACs
LSE Capital Chief Executive Officer Aftab Ahmad Chaudhry, who spearheaded the introduction of the SPAC concept in Pakistan and advised on the transaction, described the listing as an important validation of the framework.
“When we first introduced the idea of SPACs in Pakistan, the objective was to create a credible, efficient pathway for businesses to enter the public market while broadening the investment opportunities available to investors,” Chaudhry said.
He said completing the country’s first SPAC business combination required substantial regulatory engagement, innovation and persistence.
Chaudhry added that the successful transaction established a practical precedent for future SPAC listings and demonstrated the importance of sound governance and disciplined execution in financial innovation.
Pakistan’s Capital Market Opens New Investment Avenue
The successful completion of Pakistan’s first SPAC transaction creates another avenue for companies seeking access to public capital and investors looking for opportunities in emerging businesses.
The listing also highlights the growing role of renewable energy companies in Pakistan’s economic development and reflects PSX’s efforts to facilitate innovative financial structures, support growth-oriented enterprises and broaden investment opportunities.
