Islamabad Marriott Hotel hosted a reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif attended the gathering. Hotel Manager Salman Asif warmly received the prime minister upon his arrival, according to the hotel.
The reception brought together senior government officials and prominent guests. Among those in attendance were Senator Musadik Masood Malik, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary and Ali Pervaiz Malik also attended the event. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was among the distinguished guests.
The reception formed part of celebrations marking China’s National Day. The People’s Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949.

Pakistan and China are also marking 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2026. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the bilateral relationship as a longstanding partnership built on mutual trust and cooperation.
The Islamabad Marriott event highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries. The hotel described the evening as a celebration of friendship, culture and shared relations.

The event also brought together senior political figures at a time when Islamabad and Beijing are celebrating several milestones in their bilateral relationship.
