India defeated Japan by two runs in the only T20 International between the two sides after a rain-affected contest was reduced to just five overs.
Indian captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sano International Cricket Ground, with both teams facing a heavily shortened match due to rain.
Japan produced an impressive bowling display, taking four Indian wickets and restricting the visitors to just 32 runs from their five overs.
The hosts then began the chase needing 33 runs for victory. Japan remained in contention until the final delivery but could manage only 30 runs for the loss of three wickets.

India ultimately held their nerve to secure a narrow two-run victory, with Japan falling just short of the target in a closely fought finish.
The result gave India victory in the one-off T20I, while Japan’s disciplined bowling and late fight made the rain-shortened contest competitive despite the limited playing time.
