Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University (SBBDU) has entered into a strategic academic partnership with entrepreneur Lakhmir Zamurani to establish DXL (Dewan × Lakhmir), a specialised institute focused on professional education in artificial intelligence, technology, blockchain, Web3, trading, forex, stocks, cryptocurrency and the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The partnership agreement was signed on September 14, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel Karachi by Yousuf Dewan, Mr Aurangzeb, Vice Chancellor of SBBDU, and Lakhmir Zamurani, Founder of DXL.
The initiative aims to address the growing gap between participation in digital financial markets and access to structured, professionally delivered education in Pakistan. DXL will bring several emerging technology and financial-market disciplines together under a single educational pathway.
The institute will offer professional programmes covering AI technology, blockchain, Web3, trading, forex, stocks, cryptocurrency and PSX market dynamics. Its flagship 12-week Professional Diploma will comprise 288 contact hours, with an emphasis on practical learning.
The curriculum will cover technology fundamentals, market structure, price action, risk management and trading psychology. The programme will conclude with a supervised live-trading practicum using demo accounts. Instruction will follow a practitioner-led model, with active market professionals contributing to the learning experience alongside structured academic instruction.

DXL plans to expand its presence across Pakistan, with initial hubs at Park Towers in Clifton and Dewan University in Korangi Industrial Area. The facilities are designed to accommodate large student cohorts and will include dedicated faculty and administrative infrastructure. A hybrid learning model will also allow students and professionals from across the country to participate.
The institute is being established as interest in digital assets and emerging financial technologies continues to grow. However, structured education covering interconnected areas such as cryptocurrency, forex, blockchain and Web3 remains limited.
Vice Chancellor Mr Aurangzeb said the partnership would help prepare students for the changing economy and equip them with academic knowledge relevant to modern financial markets.
“We have a responsibility to prepare students for the economy they will actually work in,” he said, adding that digital markets have become an important part of the financial landscape.
Lakhmir Zamurani, Founder of DXL, said many people participating in financial markets are self-taught and lack structured training. He said the institute aims to provide a stronger educational foundation through instruction from experienced market practitioners.
The partnership is expected to create a dedicated learning platform for students, young professionals and others seeking systematic knowledge of emerging digital markets and financial technologies.
