Bayern Munich began their UEFA Champions League campaign in emphatic fashion with a 5-0 victory over Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt. The result gave Vincent Kompany’s team the perfect start to their pursuit of a seventh European crown.
Jamal Musiala opened the scoring shortly after half-time. Harry Kane then doubled Bayern’s advantage before Alphonso Davies added a spectacular third.
Michael Olise completed the rout with two late goals. The French winger scored in the 83rd minute before finding the net again in stoppage time.
Kompany made three changes to his starting XI after Bayern’s goalless Bundesliga draw against Schalke. Musiala, Olise and Kane returned to the starting lineup.
Bayern dominated possession from the opening whistle and created several chances. Luis Díaz came close in the fifth minute when he headed Joshua Kimmich’s cross narrowly over the bar.
Kimmich then struck the post in the 35th minute. Nikita Haikin also made a strong save to deny the Bayern midfielder before the break.

The visitors managed to keep Bayern scoreless through the first half. However, their resistance quickly collapsed after the restart.
Musiala broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. He finished a close-range half-volley after Kane’s effort was blocked.
Kane made it 2-0 in the 61st minute. The England captain headed home from close range after Olise delivered a dangerous free-kick.
Bayern continued to press forward and extended their lead in the 77th minute. Davies unleashed a powerful half-volley from the edge of the box after Bodø/Glimt failed to clear a corner.
Olise added Bayern’s fourth six minutes later. He curled a precise effort into the top-left corner to leave Haikin with no chance.
Bodø/Glimt’s night became even worse in the 87th minute. Odin Bjørtuft received a red card after fouling Olise as the last defender.
Olise then completed his brace in the second minute of stoppage time. He reacted quickly to a loose ball in the visitors’ defence and finished the move to seal a dominant victory.
Bayern remain unbeaten this season and will travel to Norway to face Viking in their next Champions League fixture on October 13.
