Philanthropy can earn people respect in this world and reward in the hereafter, DIG Training Faizullah Korejo said while praising businessman Danish Aman and his team for their welfare initiatives.
Korejo made the remarks as chief guest at a ceremony organised by the Defence Clifton Residents Social Welfare Association at the residence of businessman Danish Aman. Religious scholar Maulana Ishtiaq also addressed the gathering, focusing on Islamic teachings about charity, compassion and helping those in need.
Welfare initiatives highlighted
Korejo praised the services provided by Danish Aman and other philanthropists, describing their efforts as exemplary. He said that, with Aman’s support, he had established a library in a village in Badin where children receive educational guidance and assistance.
According to Korejo, more than 15 young people from the area have secured employment in different fields following these efforts.
He also highlighted the work of Zafar Malik, who has built and provided 450 houses for deserving families, and expressed hope that he would extend the initiative to his own village.

Donations collected for welfare work
Participants at the ceremony donated millions of rupees to support welfare activities. Organisers also presented shields to DIG Faizullah Korejo and other distinguished guests.
Chief Operating Officer Rescue 1122 Dr Abid Sheikh, Vice Chairman Defence Clifton Cantonment Board Najeeb Wali, retired Brigadier Shahab Qamar, Zahid Hameed and Zafar Malik also spoke at the event.
Dr Abid Sheikh said Allah chooses certain people to serve humanity and urged everyone to increase their good deeds and contribute to the welfare of others.
Najeeb Wali said he had worked for public welfare for around four decades and maintained an open-door policy for people seeking assistance. He said 60 tandoors in his area were providing food support to needy residents.
Religious scholars urge greater charity
Maulana Ishtiaq stressed the importance of helping people in genuine need and using wealth for charitable purposes rather than seeking recognition or fame.
He said charity, Zakat and donations provide opportunities to earn divine reward and urged people not to overlook those facing hardship.
Retired Brigadier Shahab Qamar said he agreed with the religious teachings discussed at the gathering and emphasised the importance of fulfilling the rights of fellow human beings. He said charity and Zakat could help people overcome hardships and difficulties.
Muaiz Shah said the tandoor programme had expanded with support from philanthropists and that its network was continuing to grow. He added that funds collected through the initiative were used for public welfare, while children also received support to attend good schools.
He praised Danish Aman for bringing philanthropists together to support charitable causes and expand welfare initiatives.
