Zimbabwe Ferry Disaster responders have recovered 15 bodies from Lake Kariba after a passenger ferry capsized on Tuesday.
A local official told the state-owned The Herald newspaper that at least 27 people remain missing. Young children are among those still unaccounted for.
Police said the ferry was carrying 90 passengers and five crew members when it capsized on Lake Kariba. However, authorities did not initially provide a death toll or confirm how many people had survived.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation cited a local official who said authorities had issued 114 tickets for the journey.
The figure raises questions about the actual number of people aboard the ferry at the time of the accident.
The discrepancy between the reported passenger numbers has added uncertainty to the scale of the disaster.
Police have not yet provided further details about the rescue operation.
Reuters said its attempts to contact a police spokesperson for comment on Wednesday went unanswered.
Search and rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate those who remain missing.
