Supermicro and Data Vault Pakistan AI data center with advanced Nvidia GPU infrastructure.

Supermicro: US Tech Giant Explores AI Data Center Upgrade in Pakistan

Supermicro has sent a technical team to Pakistan to conduct a feasibility study for upgrading Data Vault Pakistan’s AI-ready data center in Karachi with next-generation Nvidia AI processors.

The study focuses on deploying Nvidia’s advanced Blackwell B200 and B300 accelerators alongside the GB300 NVL72 platform. The system combines 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs into a single liquid-cooled AI infrastructure.

San Jose-based Super Micro Computer Inc. continues to expand its sovereign AI infrastructure worldwide. The company already works with Telenor on sovereign AI and AI-RAN solutions. Industry analysts believe that partnership could strengthen Supermicro’s collaboration with Data Vault Pakistan through Telenor’s local presence.

In 2025, Supermicro also signed a $20 billion multi-year agreement with Saudi Arabia’s DataVolt to develop hyperscale AI campuses across the region.

However, the deployment of Blackwell-class AI chips in Pakistan will still require approval under US export control regulations. Any shipment will depend on separate export authorizations.

Data Vault Pakistan became the country’s first AI-ready sovereign data center and GPU-as-a-Service provider. In December 2025, the company launched Pakistan’s first locally hosted sovereign AI cloud with Telenor Pakistan, giving businesses domestic access to Nvidia enterprise-grade GPUs.

The company says it has secured more than 3,000 Nvidia GPUs through officially approved distribution channels after meeting strict US compliance, financing and technical requirements.

Industry estimates show Pakistan spends between $700 million and $800 million annually on foreign cloud and computing services. Expanding local AI infrastructure could reduce that dependence while keeping sensitive data within the country.

Meanwhile, competition in Pakistan’s data center sector is growing. Quantum Global Data Centre, backed by Gul Ahmed Energy Group, recently announced a $230 million Tier III facility in partnership with Huawei. The project is expected to begin operations in 2027, creating parallel US-backed and China-backed AI infrastructure ecosystems in Pakistan.
