KARACHI: A delegation of the Houston Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA) met with United States Consul General in Karachi Charles Goodman to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties between Karachi and Houston.
The delegation was led by HKSCA President Muhammad Saeed Sheikh and included Karachi Chapter President Kashif Ghayas and Executive Committee Member Muhammad Yasir. Discussions during the meeting focused on promoting collaboration in trade, education, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connectivity between the two sister cities.
Consul General Goodman hosted a luncheon for the delegation at his residence, which was also attended by the Deputy Consul General and senior officials from the Economic Development and Public Affairs sections of the U.S. Consulate.
During the meeting, the HKSCA delegation presented a detailed briefing on the association’s mission, humanitarian initiatives, and efforts aimed at strengthening bilateral engagement and community relations. Participants also acknowledged the continued support and guidance of HKSCA Patron-in-Chief Syed Javed Anwar.
Both sides explored opportunities to enhance trade and investment cooperation and discussed the proposal for organizing a Pakistan–U.S. Business and Investment Forum to facilitate stronger business linkages and private-sector partnerships.
At the conclusion of the meeting, HKSCA President Muhammad Saeed Sheikh presented the official historical City Seal of Houston to Consul General Charles Goodman on behalf of the Mayor of Houston as a symbol of friendship and cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to further deepen relations between Karachi and Houston through economic, cultural, and institutional collaboration.
