The National Harmony Conference 2025 pledged

to promote love, equality, and unity

within Pakistan and around the Globe

Karachi: Leaders and representatives from various religious sects, faiths, and political parties gathered at the National Harmony Conference 2025 in Karachi on Monday to reaffirm their commitment to religious harmony, interfaith unity, and the promotion of peace across Pakistan.

Organized by the Grace Network Trust in collaboration with Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Anthony Naveed, the event served as a powerful platform showcasing Pakistan’s diverse religious and cultural fabric under one roof.

Religious Harmony in Pakistan Highlighted

Speakers at the conference stressed the urgent need for love, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence in today’s global climate. Sindh was recognized as a beacon of religious harmony in Pakistan, where followers of all faiths reportedly enjoy full religious freedom.

International Recognition of Pakistan’s Interfaith Efforts

Guest of Honour Bishop Elvis Ambony from Kampala, Uganda, lauded Pakistan for fostering interfaith unity. “The world must look beyond religious and ethnic divisions to serve humanity,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s example of religious freedom should be emulated globally.

Political and Religious Leaders Call for Unity

Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of upholding Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of an inclusive Pakistan. He praised the joint efforts of Sindh’s religious and political communities in strengthening interfaith cooperation, particularly during times of national crisis.

Pastor Danish Peter, President of Grace Network Trust, said the conference was intended to project Pakistan as a land of unity and tolerance. “We must continue to reject extremism and promote peace,” he said.

Community Leaders Celebrate Sindh’s Inclusive Spirit

Representatives from various faith-based communities echoed similar sentiments:

  • Mansoor Jek of the Bohra community praised Karachi’s diverse social fabric.
  • Dr. Farhad Mashriqi of the Baháʼí community likened Pakistan to a “vibrant bouquet” enriched by its people’s diversity.
  • Allama Muhammad Ehsan Siddiqui urged public participation in such events to foster national growth.
  • Prof. Saeed Nashir Askari of Khaksar Tehreek recalled historical sacrifices made for Pakistan’s integrity and pledged continued support for unity.

Government Pledges Continued Support for Minority Rights

Rana Hamir Singh, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Human Rights, reaffirmed the Pakistan Peoples Party’s commitment to safeguarding religious and ethnic freedoms. He highlighted that the Sindh Assembly remains a symbol of inclusivity, with representatives from all backgrounds.

Pastor Javed Akhtar reiterated that Sindh remains a peaceful province, free from religious conflict, and serves as a model for interfaith coexistence.

MQM MPA Syed Shariq Jamal credited Pakistan’s collective unity for neutralizing external threats, stating that national solidarity is key to overcoming future challenges.

A Pledge for Peace and Unity

The National Harmony Conference 2025 concluded with a collective pledge to promote love, equality, and unity not only within Pakistan but also as a global message of peace and interfaith respect.
