Karachi: WaterAid Pakistan successfully held a Media Engagement Session in Karachi, focusing on Climate-Resilient Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Advocacy. Advocating Climate-Resilient WASH Systems

The session featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Shakeel Hayat, Climate Change Specialist at WaterAid Pakistan. He stressed the urgency of building climate-resilient WASH systems to mitigate climate change’s adverse impacts on vulnerable communities. Dr. Hayat’s presentation emphasized the interconnectedness of climate change, water security, and public health, offering practical solutions to these pressing challenges.

Empowering Communities for a Sustainable Future

The session concluded with remarks from Muhammad Khaliq, Provincial Manager for Sindh and Balochistan. He stated:

“Building climate-resilient WASH systems is not just about infrastructure; it’s about empowering communities to adapt to the realities of a changing climate. Collaboration between the media, policymakers, and development partners is essential to drive this change and ensure sustainable solutions for those who need them most.”
