Karachi: Visa (NYSE: V), a global leader in digital payments, hosted its first market-focused client event, Visa Connect Karachi, last week. The event, attended by over 200 participants, including senior officials from the State Bank of Pakistan and the financial sector, marked a milestone for Visa in the North Africa, Levant, and Pakistan (NALP) region.

Industry Experts Highlight Digital Payment Trends

The event featured regional experts who discussed key trends in digital payments, business growth opportunities, innovative product solutions, and AI-driven digital experiences. A high-level panel, comprising senior government and banking officials, also explored the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening the financial sector.

Visa Reinforces Commitment to Pakistan’s Digital Transformation

Umar Khan, Country Manager for Visa in Pakistan and Afghanistan, emphasized Visa’s dedication to supporting digital transformation in the country.

“Pakistan is accelerating its digitization journey, and Visa Connect Karachi reflects our commitment to driving innovation and empowering clients in this evolving landscape. The event provided a platform for industry leaders to engage in insightful discussions and leverage Visa’s global expertise to address local challenges. SBP Deputy Governor Highlights Collaborative Efforts

Saleem Ullah, Deputy Governor (Finance, Inclusion & Innovation) of the State Bank of Pakistan, underscored the significance of the gathering.

Visa Connect Karachi provided an excellent opportunity to engage with key leaders in Pakistan’s financial industry. The event facilitated discussions on critical advancements and challenges, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts to drive financial inclusion. Strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors is vital to fostering a robust and inclusive financial ecosystem in Pakistan,” he remarked.
