Karachi: The VCare Welfare Social Society, in collaboration with Khudi Wellness, conducted a Wellness Weekend session primarily designed for senior citizens, with participation from adults, creating an inclusive and intergenerational space for connection and reflection.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Komal Ghazal, a mental health professional, who led a deeply engaging storytelling-based dialogue centered on childhood experiences, emotional memories, and their long-term impact on personality and behavior.
Participants actively shared their life experiences, reflecting on how early childhood environments, parenting styles, and unresolved emotional experiences continue to shape individuals across the lifespan. The session provided a safe and supportive space for expression, emotional release, and reconnection with one’s inner child.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of breaking generational patterns and fostering healthier, more mindful parenting approaches for future generations.
The session created a thoughtful, intimate, and emotionally connected environment, strengthening bonds among participants and encouraging mutual understanding and empathy.
Ms Sarwat Shah, founder Khudi Wellness concluded the session with the hopeful message that, we do not have to live with childhood traumas and cease the opportunity to process and resolve our traumas to release the emotional baggage.
The gathering concluded with an Eid Milan one dish party, where participants continued to connect informally, reinforcing a sense of community, warmth, and belonging.
This Wellness Weekend program reflects the joint commitment of VCare and Khudi Wellness to promote holistic wellbeing, emotional awareness, and social connection, especially for senior citizens, through accessible and community-based initiatives.
