Staff Reporter
Karachi: After formally assuming charge as the U.S. Consul General in Karachi, Charles Goodman paid homage to Pakistan’s founding father at the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. On behalf of the American people, he laid a floral wreath, signed the guestbook, and toured the adjoining museum to gain deeper insights into Jinnah’s life and legacy.
Speaking on the occasion, CG Goodman said: “Visiting Mazar-e-Quaid is an honor and a reminder of our shared ideals. Jinnah envisioned a Pakistan rooted in unity and economic prosperity. As I begin my service in Karachi, I am grateful for the warmth of the Pakistani people and optimistic about the growing partnership between our nations.”
The visit reflects Washington’s emphasis on people-to-people connections and diplomatic engagement with Pakistan. The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi plays a key role in advancing cooperation in trade, education, cultural exchange, and regional stability. Goodman’s early outreach signals a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties under his tenure.
