Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in the early hours of Thursday after being stabbed six times by an intruder at his Bandra residence. The actor sustained severe injuries, including two deep wounds near his spine. Saif’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, acted quickly, taking his injured father to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw, as their car was unavailable.

Doctors Successfully Remove Knife from Saif’s Spine

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital performed an emergency operation to remove a 2.5-inch knife lodged near Saif’s thoracic spinal cord. Dr. Nitin Dange, Consultant Neurosurgeon, revealed that the knife caused spinal fluid leakage, which required immediate repair. Additional wounds on Saif’s left hand and neck were treated by the plastic surgery team. The actor is now stable and recovering.

Dr. Dange stated:
“Saif Ali Khan was admitted at 2 am following an assault at his residence. The surgery successfully removed the knife, and the leaking spinal fluid was repaired. Saif is stable and recovering well.”

Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Quick Thinking Saves Saif

According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:30 am when an intruder entered Saif and Kareena Kapoor’s home. The actor confronted the attacker to protect his family, sustaining injuries in the process. Ibrahim, Saif’s son from his first marriage with Amrita Singh, quickly arranged transportation and accompanied his father to the hospital.

Details of the Attack and Police Investigation

The intruder reportedly gained access to the apartment through the house help’s quarters. Mumbai Police suspect the attacker climbed 12 flights of stairs to avoid detection on CCTV. While the attacker fled the scene, police are investigating the case. Kareena Kapoor and the couple’s sons, Taimur and Jeh, were unharmed during the incident.

A police official stated:
“An unidentified person intruded into Saif Ali Khan’s residence. The actor sustained injuries while protecting his family. The case is under investigation.”

Saif’s team shared a health update, thanking fans for their support. The statement read:
“Saif Ali Khan has undergone surgery and is now out of danger. The family is safe, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation. We appreciate everyone’s prayers and patience during this time.”

Kareena Kapoor Confirms Attempted Burglary

Kareena Kapoor’s team confirmed the burglary attempt in a statement:
“There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence. Saif sustained injuries and underwent surgery. The family is safe, and the police are investigating. We request fans not to speculate further.”
