KARACHI: The Rotary Club of Karachi Happy Palace and the Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands jointly hosted the District Governor’s Official Visit (DGOV) on May 24, 2026, in a ceremony that highlighted Rotary values, community service achievements, and inter-club collaboration.
The event brought together district leadership, club members, and distinguished guests to review the clubs’ accomplishments during the year and reaffirm their commitment to serving communities across Pakistan.
The gathering was attended by District Governor Shakeel Kaimkhani of Rotary International District 3271, along with Past District Governors Iqbal Qureshi and Rao Saleem, District Governor Nominee Fahad Sikander, District Governor Nominee Designate Abdul Jabbar, District Secretary Furqan Sheikh, Deputy District Governor Ali Haider, Assistant Governor Himadullah Soho, and several Rotarians from across the district.
The joint session was hosted by Rtn Sarwat N. Shah, President of the Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands, and Rtn Maleeha Khan, President of the Rotary Club of Karachi Happy Palace. Both presidents presented a detailed overview of their clubs’ service projects and achievements over the past year.
During his address, District Governor Shakeel Kaimkhani praised both clubs for their commitment to Rotary’s mission and their contributions to community development. He particularly highlighted two flagship initiatives for their impact and sustainability.
One of the projects, “Meri Maa – Himmat Ka Nishan,” was recognized for promoting women’s empowerment and supporting families through community engagement. The second initiative, focused on community development in Thar, was commended for creating sustainable improvements in one of Pakistan’s most underserved regions.
The district governor emphasized that collaboration between clubs strengthens Rotary’s ability to serve communities and encouraged continued joint efforts to expand the impact of humanitarian projects.
The ceremony was conducted in accordance with Rotary protocols and concluded with the presentation of commemorative mementos to District Governor Shakeel Kaimkhani and members of the district leadership team in recognition of their support and guidance.
The event also underscored the importance of fellowship and partnership among Rotary clubs. Participants noted that the cooperation between Rotary Club of Karachi Happy Palace and Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands serves as a positive example for future inter-club initiatives within Rotary International District 3271.
