President Asif Ali Zardari Arrives in Chengdu to Begin 10-Day Official Visit to China

Chengdu: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Chengdu on Friday, marking the start of his 10-day official visit to China, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation in diverse fields including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
On his arrival at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, President Zardari was warmly received by Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Sichuan Vice Governor Huang Ruixue. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong were also present to welcome him.
According to a statement issued by the President’s Secretariat, the visit will include meetings with Chinese leadership and senior officials to enhance cooperation across economic, trade, and connectivity initiatives, as well as to exchange views on regional peace and collaboration at multilateral fora.
The Foreign Office (FO) earlier confirmed that President Zardari will also visit Shanghai and Xinjiang, where he will hold discussions with provincial leadership.
The FO emphasized that the visit reflects the tradition of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China, underscoring the two countries’ deep commitment to their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
