Minsk: In honor of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Residence of the Embassy of Pakistan in Minsk. The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community and their families, who gathered to celebrate this significant occasion.
Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan proudly hoisted the national flag to the stirring tune of Pakistan’s national anthem. During the ceremony, messages from Pakistan’s leadership were read out, emphasizing the importance of this historic day. In his address, Ambassador Khan paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of the Independence Movement, whose steadfast struggle led to the liberation of Muslims in the subcontinent. He also acknowledged the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis in the country’s economic development.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This strong stance continues to be a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Adding to the cultural significance of the event, a painting exhibition by renowned Pakistani artist Jimmy Engineer was displayed, featuring artwork depicting the mass migration following Pakistan’s independence. The event concluded with a feast of traditional Pakistani cuisine, allowing participants to enjoy the flavors of their homeland in a warm and communal atmosphere.
