Pakistani Producer Dr. Umair Haroon Joins Prestigious International Emmy Awards Jury

In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s media and entertainment industry, acclaimed producer and director Dr. Umair Haroon has officially joined the jury panel for the 2026 International Emmy Awards.

His appointment follows his election to the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, making him currently the sole Pakistani representative serving within the prestigious global institution.

As part of the International Emmy Awards jury, Dr. Umair Haroon will join a highly selective panel of international television professionals responsible for evaluating programs and performances from around the world.

The jury includes leading executives, producers, network presidents, and creative industry figures associated with globally recognized media organizations and entertainment platforms.

From Forensic Medicine to Television Innovation

Based in Karachi, Dr. Umair Haroon originally trained as a medical doctor specializing in forensic medicine from Dow University of Health Sciences before transitioning into media production.

Over the years, he has directed and produced more than 200 media projects spanning documentaries, social awareness campaigns, historical content, and investigative programming.

He is particularly recognized for pioneering Pakistan’s first practical forensic science television series, Kadi Se Hathkadi, which combined scientific investigation with mainstream storytelling.

Commitment to Pakistani Storytelling and Cultural Identity

Reacting to the achievement, Dr. Umair Haroon said he remains committed to using media as a platform for education, justice, and cultural preservation.

He highlighted Pakistan’s rich storytelling tradition and expressed pride in representing the country’s creative community on an international platform.
