Pakistan expresses desire for partnership with Republic of Korea

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif extended the desire for partnership in various sectors with the Republic of Korea while inaugurating the Potato Seed Production and Aeronautics Complex National Agricultural Research Council in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister, while addressing the inaugural ceremony, said that Republic of Korea is a country with a strong economy. We want partnership in various sectors with the Republic of Korea.

The Prime Minister’s address at the inauguration ceremony of the Aeronautics Complex said he is grateful to Korea for establishing an institution related to potato seeds. Providing farmers with the best seeds will increase production.

Highlighting the country’s agricultural sector woes, Prime Minister said that China and India have surpassed us in sugarcane production, while today our cotton production is very low. We are importing billions of dollars worth of cotton.

He, said that If we try, agriculture will be strong in the next few years. The country can be taken forward only by developing agriculture. We will also export high-quality potatoes.

He further said that Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan. 65% of our population is associated with agriculture in villages. Our farmers are very hardworking and capable. Providing the best seeds to farmers will increase production. There is no use in crying about the past. Now we have to think about the future.
