Nora Fatehi Faces Rs3 Crore Defamation Suit Over ‘Lego Airplane’ Remark

Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi is facing a Rs3 crore civil defamation lawsuit filed by aviation company Dunes Aviation over comments she allegedly made about one of its chartered aircraft.

The company has accused Fatehi of making “derogatory and reckless” remarks on social media after she described its Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft as a “Lego airplane,” a “toy” and a “miniature” plane.

The case was filed before a court in Gandhinagar, which is scheduled to hear the matter on September 25.

According to the lawsuit, Fatehi recorded videos inside the aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December last year and later posted the footage on her Instagram account.

Dunes Aviation alleged that the actor’s comments reached millions of followers and resulted in booking cancellations, harming the company’s commercial operations and reputation.

The company claimed it suffered a 15% to 20% decline in bookings along with an increase in cancellations following the social media posts.

Dunes Aviation described the statements as “reckless” and “irresponsible,” alleging that they were made without technical knowledge, verification or a factual basis.

The aviation company said the aircraft was appropriately sized for the journey, fully certified by India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), airworthy and operating legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP).

In addition to Rs3 crore in damages, Dunes Aviation has asked the court to order the immediate removal of social media content containing Fatehi’s remarks or references to the aircraft.

The company has also sought a public clarification from the actor regarding the comments.

The allegations remain subject to the court proceedings, and no finding of liability has been made against Fatehi.
