Javed Miandad urges greater support for young cricketers at Karachi U-15 graduation ceremony

Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad said Pakistan has no shortage of cricket talent, stressing that young players need proper guidance, coaching and patronage to reach their full potential.

He made the remarks while addressing the certificate distribution ceremony of the Karachi Under-15 Boys’ Cricket Skill Development Program, organised by the Jalal Uddin Cricket Academy in collaboration with Helping Hand for Relief and Development, at Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana in Karachi.

Miandad highlights grassroots development

Javed Miandad, who attended the event as chief guest, said quality coaching and modern training at the grassroots level are essential for producing future stars.

He praised the efforts of Jalal Uddin Cricket Academy and Helping Hand for Relief and Development in nurturing young talent. He also expressed confidence that many of the participants would represent Pakistan in domestic and international cricket in the future.

Jalal Uddin stresses long-term investment

Former Test cricketer Jalal Uddin, who heads the project, said the long-term programme aims to identify and develop promising young cricketers.

He noted that years of working with emerging players have produced encouraging results. He also urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to strengthen grassroots initiatives and provide talented youngsters with more opportunities.

According to Jalal Uddin, structured training programmes can play a vital role in producing the next generation of Pakistani cricketers.

Helping Hand backs youth development

Sobia Naqvi, representing Helping Hand for Relief and Development (USA), said the organisation is committed to empowering Muslim youth across the world.

She said the organisation wants young people to excel in sports alongside other fields and praised Jalal Uddin Cricket Academy for its outstanding work in youth development.

Certificates awarded to participants

Camp Director Mohi Uddin thanked the organisers, coaches and participants for making the programme successful.

The ceremony was also attended by former Test cricketers Sadiq Mohammad and Shoaib Mohammad, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana President Syed Muhammad Talha, Muhammad Haris Khan, Iqbal Waris, Waheed Mirza, Ilyas Khan, Waqar Hussain, Asif Khan and other distinguished guests.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participants of the Karachi Under-15 Boys’ Cricket Skill Development Program.
